China backs Pakistan’s diplomatic push to end Middle East conflict

ISLAMABAD -  Pakistan and China on Monday reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region through dialogue and diplomacy, following high-level discussions on recent diplomatic developments.

 

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during which the two leaders exchanged views on the recently concluded Islamabad Talks and ongoing direct negotiations between the United States and Iran.

 

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi congratulated Pakistan on its proactive and dedicated efforts to facilitate dialogue and reduce tensions in the region. He also reaffirmed China’s continued support for Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic role.

 

Dar reiterated Islamabad’s unwavering commitment to advancing peaceful solutions through engagement and dialogue, emphasizing that diplomacy remains the only viable path to resolving complex regional challenges.

 

The two leaders also discussed the Pakistan–China Five-Point Peace Initiative, which aims to support peaceful conflict resolution and enhance regional stability through coordinated efforts.

 

Both sides agreed to maintain close communication and coordination in the coming days, underscoring the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement amid evolving regional dynamics.

 

The conversation comes in the wake of intensified diplomatic activity in Islamabad, where Pakistan has been actively engaging international stakeholders to ease tensions and promote dialogue between key global actors.

 

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to discuss the outcome of the Islamabad Talks and broader regional developments, including the U.S.–Iran negotiations.

 

The UK side appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability. Dar emphasized the importance of full adherence to the ceasefire by all parties and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable path toward lasting peace.
