Pakistan, Belarus Air Forces Pledge to Strengthen Bilateral Military Cooperation

ISLAMABAD - A high-level Belarusian defence delegation, led by Major General Andrei Yulianovich Lukyanovich, Commander of the Air Force & Air Defence of Belarus, visited Air Headquarters Islamabad to enhance military cooperation and strengthen long-standing bilateral ties with Pakistan.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the visit featured extensive discussions on mutual interests related to air power, operational training, and defence collaboration. Both sides expressed a strong commitment to deepening military-to-military cooperation and agreed on maintaining close engagement between their respective Air Forces.

Upon arrival, the Belarusian commander was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

During the official meeting, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Pakistan Air Force, highlighted the enduring defence relationship between the two countries. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s willingness to provide comprehensive support for training Belarusian pilots and maintenance crews, with the goal of enhancing the operational capacity of the Belarus Air Force.

Discussions also included plans to expand collaboration in areas such as training, technological development, and operational capabilities. Both sides agreed to initiate high-level exchange programs aimed at fostering professional development and institutional capacity building.

Major General Lukyanovich conveyed his deep appreciation for the hospitality shown during his visit and praised the Pakistan Air Force’s combat experience and operational expertise. He expressed Belarus’ interest in learning from PAF’s wartime operations and doctrines, calling for the development of formal training programs tailored to Belarusian requirements.

In a further gesture of bilateral goodwill, the Belarusian Air Force chief extended an invitation to the PAF Chief to attend key upcoming defence events in Belarus, aimed at further exploring avenues for strategic cooperation.

The visit, ISPR noted, underscores the growing defence partnership between Pakistan and Belarus, reflecting shared aspirations to foster peace and stability through military collaboration and mutual exchange.
