DUBAI, UAE: Muslims across the world demanded the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and its member states to cut diplomatic and trade ties with India after ruling party leaders insulted to Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

In an online survey conducted by the South Asia Times during the last 24 hours, 95.7% of people demanded that Muslim states should cut diplomatic and trade ties with India.

While 4.3% viewed taking the issue to the United Nations.

“Diplomatic and trade ties should cut until arrogant Nupur Sharma is hanged,” Shahzad Baloch said

While Muhammad Adil Zafar said that the current growing Islamophobia in India and attack against the Muslims could stop only to boycott New Delhi.

“Muslim world need to unite and give tough response to India as the ruling party still support Sharma,” he said.

On Sunday, the Indian government attempted to Cool down the anger spread among the Muslims across the world and said BJP suspended both leaders.

However, In a video, BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, who made derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), said that Indian Home Minister Amit Shah called her and assured his full support.

“I am thankful to the government and home minister Amit Shah, who called me and assured full protection [against Muslims],” she said.

The video statement of Sharma shows that the Indian government tried to deceive the Muslim countries through its false assurance to take action against Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal.

On Monday, the Indonesian and Maldives governments also issued strong statements of condemnation while Indonesia also summoned India’s envoy.

A day earlier, Pakistan, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and OIC strongly condemned the Indian government and ruling party leaders who used abusive language against Holy Prophet.

Meanwhile, the “Boycott Indian Products” campaign is also underway across the Muslim world and people were asked to not buy any Indian-made products in the markets.
