“Kashmir Solidarity Day” observes across world

ISLAMABAD (TSAT) Kashmir solidarity day has observed in Pakistan and many other countries across the world to show support and solidarity with Kashmiri people.

5th February every year observing as “solidarity day” with Kashmiri people in Pakistan and around the world by Pakistanis and Kashmiri living abroad.

The day began with prayer in mosques for Kashmiri people and those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and fought against the Indian occupation during last seven decades.

Rallies and seminars were also held across the country where people hold placards, banners inscribed slogans in support of Kashmiri people and condemned the illegal occupation of India.

For the first time Kashmir solidarity Day was Proposed and observed by the Jammt-e-Islami Pakistan former chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad (late) in 1990. Later the former Prime Minister of PakistanBenazir Bhutto officially declared 5th February as “Kashmir Solidarity Day” with the Kashmiri people.

From the last 32 years, the people of Pakistan have been expressing solidarity with the People of Kashmiri and marking this day to renew the pledge that the people of Pakistan will continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people till the independence of IIOJK.

In a message, Pakistan President Dr Arif Alvi said “IIOJK is being brutalised under Indian occupation by fascist Modi regime, now also trying to bring demographic changes as shifted Hindus from other parts of India to Kashmir.

“IIOJK is being brutalised under Indian occupation by fascist Modi regime, now also trying to change demography thru criminal means. Pakistan will continue to support Kashmir cause. I remind the world to wake up & fulfil its promise of protecting Kashmiri human & political rights.”

Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan in his message said that his country stands united with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters and committed to their legitimate struggle for self-determination. Modi’s fascist policies of oppression and violence have failed to crush the spirit of the Kashmiri resistance in IIOJK.

“It is time the world takes notice of India's grave human rights violations in IIOJK which include crimes against humanity, war crimes & genocidal acts as well as the threat of forced demographic change. All these are in complete violation of the Geneva Conventions.” Khan said

“It is the international community's responsibility to ensure an impartial plebiscite in Kashmir. The world must not ignore the plight of the people of IIOJK and their undeniable desire to free themselves from the Indian state's draconian military occupation.” Khan added

Pakistan administered Kashmir also known as Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry urged Kashmiris and Pakistanis living around the world to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir .

He said it a duty to show solidarity with the people of IIOJK today and expose the ugly face of India to the world
