Iranian Foreign Minister arrives in Islamabad alongside President Pezeshkian

By The South Asia Times

ISLAMABAD - Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday as part of the high-level delegation accompanying President Masoud Pezeshkian on his state visit to Pakistan.

Upon arrival at Nur Khan Airbase, Araghchi was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

Araghchi's visit comes as part of the Iranian president's first overseas trip since the end of the war with the US and Israel, following Pakistan's successful mediation efforts that led to the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

Pakistan and Iran share strong brotherly ties, deeply rooted in history, faith, and culture, according to the Foreign Office statement. The leadership and people of Pakistan extended a warm welcome to the Iranian foreign minister and the delegation.

The visit provides an opportunity to discuss ongoing diplomatic engagements following the Islamabad MoU, as well as avenues for further enhancing bilateral cooperation across diverse sectors.
