Iranian forces killed dozen Afghan nationals at western border

KABUL (TSAT) - The Iranian forces have killed dozen Afghan nationals and hundreds more wounded during the past six months, Afghan media reported.

 

Following Taliban took over the country in mid-August last year, the war-torn country moved to severe economic crisis that compelled thousand people to leave the country.

 

During last six months while hundreds people who were trying to cross the border into Iran came under attacks and dozen of them have lost lives, the Afghanistan Times reported. 

 

“According to relatives of the patients, the sick and wounded people were beaten on the border when they wanted to cross the border into Iran,” the daily quoted Jailani Sharifi, nursing director of Nimruz Hospital as saying.

 

Afghanistan has over 920 km border with Iran and many Afghans trying to cross the border and reach Europea for a better life.

 

The local residents in Herat and Nimruz strongly condemned the Iranian forces for killing the innocent Afghans people.

 

 

Last year, a human rights watchdog expressed concerns over the status of the Afghan refugee mainly crossing the roughly borders of Iran to seek asylum in the European Countries.

 

Iranian forces have repeatedly shot and killed many Afghan refugees who are seeking to cross the border illegally to make an end meet.
