Indonesia President arrives on his two days visit to Pakistan

By The South Asia Times

Islamabad — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Pakistan on Monday for a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two brotherly nations. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly received the visiting dignitary at Noor Khan Airbase, where he was accorded a traditional welcome.

President Prabowo’s aircraft touched down amid full protocol, with a red-carpet reception and a guard of honour presented by the Pakistan Armed Forces. Senior ministers, diplomats, and Indonesian officials were also present at the airbase during the welcoming ceremony.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif later took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his sentiments on the landmark visit.

He posted:

**“Greatly honoured to welcome my dear brother, President Prabowo Subianto, on his first official visit to Pakistan.

Pakistan and Indonesia are bound together by a shared history, deep cultural affinity, and a friendship rooted in mutual respect and solidarity.

Looking forward to our meaningful engagements tomorrow as we work to further strengthen this enduring partnership.”**

During the visit, President Prabowo is expected to hold important meetings
