New Delhi fake news campaign against Pakistan, The Print an Alias for Indian Disinformation Campaigns

New Delhi fake news campaign against Pakistan, The Print an Alias for Indian Disinformation Campaigns

By Shahid Shah

Indian smear campaigns using disinformation and propaganda against Pakistan are no secret. EU DisinfoLab’s report made it crystal clear that India has invested heavily to pursue its malign propaganda against Pakistan. The report said with solid proof that there were around 750 fake media outlets in 119 countries across the globe designated to defame Pakistan. Indians have spent 15 years in the United Nations and European Union to isolate Pakistan. The Indian malicious agenda of targeting Pakistan continue to fail as Pakistan maintains its steady pace towards peace and progress.

Indian maligned efforts of defaming Pakistan and its leadership have repeatedly been exposed at world forums as these proved to be nothing but a pack of lies. A similar attempt was made by a phoney media outlet named ThePrint, run by Indian RAW, which tried to defame Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff by running a fake and frivolous story.

ThePrint published a story on the alleged snubbing of Pakistan’s COAS at the hand of a random European Official without providing any reference or evidence. “This story is baseless and absolute lie. It’s worst form of a fake and concocted frivolous story” said a government official privy to the facts and information.

Another false claim of Indian storyteller Praveen Swami who wrote that General sought attendance at the Munich Security Conference being unaware of the fact that NSA Moeed Yusuf was already attending the Conference is nothing but laughable. This part of the story was specifically crafted to construct a Civil-Military discord. The same General Bajwa who the Indian fibster professed to be snubbed was the keynote speaker in 2018’s Munich Security Conference. His historic words “Countries do not prosper, Regions Do” were part of the same address he made at that conference.

According to the fake article, the COAS conducted a mysterious visit to London along with Lt Gen Asif Ghafoor. “The claim is absolutely baseless as the former was attending the funeral of his brother in Pakistan at that time”, official claimed.

The story has an international relevance as it clearly shows how much India as a country is involved in peddling venomous propaganda and disinformation against Pakistan and its leadership.

The Hindutva driven fanatical approach of India towards Pakistan  is also detrimental to regional peace and stability. India in cahoots with its lying icons such as Shekhar Gupta who is the owner of ThePrint is pursuing a propaganda war against Pakistan. Shekhar Gupta is one of those so-called journalists in India who are famous as soul sellers in their own country. The monkey business of Indian fake news is not only inimical for the Indian public but also for all those journalists around the world who put their lives at stake for digging out the truth and preserving the ethics of journalism.
