By The South Asia Times

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday received a telephone call from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who expressed solidarity with the people of Pakistan over the devastation caused by recent floods.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, President Erdogan extended heartfelt condolences on the loss of lives and destruction of property in various parts of Pakistan. He assured that Türkiye stood ready to provide all possible assistance, including in ongoing rescue and relief operations.

Prime Minister Sharif thanked the Turkish president for his “kind and thoughtful sentiments” during this difficult time and welcomed Ankara’s generous offer of support. He said the gesture reflected the “strong, deep-rooted fraternal ties” that Pakistan and Türkiye have always shared, noting that both nations have consistently supported each other during times of crisis.

The two leaders also recalled their recent engagements earlier this year and expressed the hope of meeting again on the sidelines of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, China.
