Six Policemen Martyred in Terrorist Attack on Police Training School in Dera Ismail Khan: ISPR

Islamabad - Six policemen, including trainees, were martyred and several others injured when terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group “Fitna al Khwarij” launched a cowardly attack on a police training school in Dera Ismail Khan on Friday night , the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

According to a statement issued by the ISPR, terrorists attempted to breach the perimeter security of the Police Training School in Dera Ismail Khan district. However, their plans were swiftly thwarted by the vigilant response of law enforcement personnel on duty. In desperation, the attackers rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the main gate of the facility.

Police personnel displayed exceptional bravery and professionalism, engaging the assailants and killing three terrorists on the spot. The remaining two were cornered inside a building complex and later neutralized in a precision clearance operation carried out by security forces.

During the intense exchange of fire, six policemen — including trainees — embraced shahadat after putting up a valiant resistance. Twelve policemen and one civilian were also injured. The ISPR said the attackers desecrated a mosque within the school complex and brutally killed the Imam, who was performing his duties at the time.

Security and law enforcement agencies have launched sanitization operations in the area to eliminate any remaining threats.

“The perpetrators of this heinous and cowardly act will be brought to justice,” the ISPR said, reaffirming that Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies remain determined to eradicate Indian-sponsored terrorism and that the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes only strengthen their resolve to protect the country at all costs.
