India to face consequences, Canadian top Diplomat over its citizen killing

OTTAWA - Canadian Foreign Minister on Tuesday said that India will face consequences if its involvement is proved in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

 

In a video statement, Melanie Joly said  first and foremost, she would like to extend her condolences to the family and loved ones of hearts to Nijjar. 

 

 

The allegations that a representative of a foreign government may have been involved in the killing of a Canadian citizen here in Canada on Canadian soil is not only troubling, but it is completely unacceptable, she said.

 

If proven true, this would be a grave violation of our sovereignty and have the most basic rule of how countries deal with each other.” 

We've been clear we will not tolerate any form of foreign interference. 

 

Since this was brought to our attention, been guided by three principles. The first one, we will seek the truth. 

 

The second one, we will protect Canadians at all times. And thirdly, we will protect Canada's sovereignty I conveyed these principles to my Indian And I've also told him that we expect full to make sure that we get to the bottom of And as of and as a consequence, we've expelled a top Indian diplomat from Canada, she said.

 

Earlier  Canadian Prime Minister Justin said that there are “credible allegations” that the government of India was behind the shooting death of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British Columbia (B.C.).
