PESHAWAR, Pakistan - Pakistani security forces carried out a major retaliatory operation, codenamed Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, targeting Afghan militant positions along the border.

According to security sources, 58 militants were killed and more than 100 injured in the strikes. Twelve Taliban posts were reportedly destroyed, and five posts were captured by Pakistani forces.

Officials said the operation also destroyed a major ammunition depot, three Afghan battalions, a sector headquarters, and more than 30 tanks, artillery guns, and armored personnel carriers.

Security sources added that intense retaliatory operations are ongoing, underscoring Pakistan’s readiness to respond decisively to cross-border aggression.

Meanwhile, Pakistani security sources confirmed that they had carried out a fresh airstrike inside Afghanistan in response to "unprovoked Afghan aggression."

"Airstrikes destroyed a large ammunition depot in Nangarhar with pinpoint accuracy, and further operations are ongoing," said security sources.
