40 dead, several injured in 2 major bus accidents in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - At least 40 passengers were killed and several other injured in two major accidents in Pakistan.

 

At least 29 people lost their lives when a passenger bus fell into a ditch near Pana bridge, local broadcaster Geo News reported.

 

The bus was traveling from Haveli Kahuta to Rawalpindi.

 

In another accident, a passenger bus carrying Shia pilgrims plunged into a ditch at the Makran Coastal Highway leaving 11 dead and wounding more than 30 others, according to the broadcaster. 

 

The pilgrims belonging to Lahore and Gujranwala were traveling from Punjab to Iran when their bus met with an ill-fated accident.
