ISLAMABAD  — At least 19 terrorists were killed in three separate intelligence-based operations conducted by Pakistan’s security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations targeted militants linked to Fitna al Khwarij, described as an Indian-sponsored group responsible for multiple terrorist attacks in the region.

In the first operation in the Guluno area of Mohmand District, security forces engaged militants after receiving reports of their presence. Following an intense exchange of fire, 14 terrorists were killed.

In a second intelligence-based operation in Datta Khel, North Waziristan District, four more militants were neutralized. Meanwhile, in Bannu District, security forces killed another terrorist during a separate encounter.

The ISPR said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, who were involved in “numerous terrorist activities” across the province.

“Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists in the area, as Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to wipe out the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country,” the statement added.
