Pakistani Security Forces Kill 13 Militants in Two Operations in Northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Rawalpindi — Pakistan’s security forces killed 13 militants in two separate intelligence-based operations in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province , the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants belonged to what it described as the “Indian proxy Fitna Al Khwarij.” The first operation was carried out in Bannu district following reports of militant presence. “During the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, eight khwarij were sent to hell,” the statement said.

A second intelligence-based operation was conducted in Kurram district, where security forces engaged another militant group. “In the ensuing fire exchange, five khwarij were effectively neutralised,” ISPR added.

The military said sanitisation operations are ongoing in both areas to eliminate any remaining militants. It reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue their “relentless counter-terrorism campaign” under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, to eradicate what it termed “foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism” from the country.
