Afghan Taliban Request Ceasefire After Pakistan Army’s Powerful Response in Spin Boldak and Chaman Sectors

By The South Asia Times

ISLAMABAD— Following a series of intense border clashes, the Afghan Taliban have requested a ceasefire after facing a powerful and coordinated response from the Pakistan Army in the Spin Boldak and Chaman sectors, according to security sources.

The clashes erupted after Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP) elements launched cross-border attacks on Pakistani posts. The Pakistan Army retaliated with full force, targeting militant positions and destroying multiple Taliban posts and tanks with personnel, the sources said.

Security officials confirmed that Pakistan Air Force also carried out precision strikes on key joint camps of the Afghan Taliban and TTP inside Afghan border areas, inflicting heavy losses on militant infrastructure.

“The Pakistan Army’s powerful response has compelled the Afghan Taliban to request a ceasefire,” a senior security source said, adding that the armed forces neutralized several enemy assets during the operation.

Meanwhile, the defeated Taliban operatives have begun circulating fake videos on social media, falsely claiming to have captured Pakistani military equipment. “These reports are baseless and devoid of truth,” the officials stated.

The situation along the border remains under close monitoring. “The Pakistan Army is fully prepared to respond to any further aggression from the Afghan Taliban or Fitna al-Khawarij,” a military official emphasized, warning that any future provocation will be met with a sure, forceful, and elevated response.
