Pakistan Prime Minister Pays Tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia at Bangladesh High Commission

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday visited the High Commission of Bangladesh to offer Fateha and express condolences on the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, former prime minister of Bangladesh and chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party.

 

During the visit, the prime minister conveyed his sympathies to the Charge d’Affaires of Bangladesh, signed the condolence book, and offered Fateha for the departed soul. In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid rich tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia, describing her as a visionary leader and an eminent political figure who dedicated her life to public service.

 

Remembering her as a sincere friend of Pakistan, the prime minister said Begum Zia had left behind an enduring and inspirational legacy that would be remembered across the region.

 

On behalf of the government and people of Pakistan, the prime minister extended heartfelt condolences to Begum Khaleda Zia’s family, her admirers, and the people of Bangladesh, and prayed that Almighty Allah grant her the highest place in Jannah.

 

The prime minister was accompanied by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi during the visit.
