Pakistan Accepts Trump's Invitation to Join Gaza 'Board of Peace'

By Imran Nasir

ISLAMABAD — Pakistan has formally accepted an invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the newly formed Gaza "Board of Peace (BoP)", aimed at supporting the implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan under the framework of UN Security Council Resolution 2803, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday.

In an official statement, Pakistan emphasized that its participation in the Board of Peace reflects its ongoing efforts to contribute to lasting peace in Gaza and to support initiatives addressing the humanitarian and political dimensions of the conflict.

“Pakistan hopes that the creation of this framework will lead to concrete steps toward a permanent ceasefire, an increase in humanitarian assistance for Palestinians, and the reconstruction of Gaza,” the statement said.

The statement further highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people, advocating for a credible, time-bound political process consistent with international legitimacy and relevant UN resolutions.

Pakistan reaffirmed that its vision remains the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

Officials noted that Pakistan’s involvement in the Board of Peace is intended to ensure that its voice and perspectives help shape discussions on Gaza, strengthening international efforts to alleviate suffering and achieve a durable solution to the conflict.

“Pakistan looks forward to playing a constructive role as part of the Board of Peace to achieve these objectives and to end the suffering of our Palestinian brothers and sisters,” the statement added.

On Sunday, Pakistan said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has received an invitation from Trump to join the newly announced Gaza Peace Board.
