Pakistan, China reaffirm strategic partnership after Islamabad talks

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on Monday met with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong to discuss key regional developments following the recent Islamabad talks.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on the evolving situation after Pakistan facilitated direct engagement between the United States and Iran in the capital.
Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred path to resolving regional tensions.
He emphasized Islamabad’s continued support for peaceful negotiations amid a complex geopolitical landscape.
Ambassador Jiang praised Pakistan’s constructive role in bringing the two sides together, describing it as a significant diplomatic effort contributing to regional stability.
Both sides also reiterated their commitment to further strengthening the Pakistan–China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, underscoring close coordination on regional and global issues.
The meeting reflects ongoing high-level engagement between Islamabad and Beijing as Pakistan seeks to position itself as a key mediator in international diplomacy.
