Pakistan, Azerbaijan Discuss $2 Billion Investment Plan

Islamabad,— Pakistan and Azerbaijan on Friday discussed the realization of a proposed US$ 2 billion Azerbaijani investment in Pakistan, as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov.

 

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two leaders expressed satisfaction over the current state of bilateral relations and agreed to further strengthen cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

 

They reaffirmed their shared commitment to expanding economic engagement and deepening strategic ties.

 

During the conversation, Senator Ishaq Dar underscored the importance of sustained high-level engagements in enhancing Pakistan-Azerbaijan cooperation, particularly in sectors of mutual economic interest.

 

He emphasized that closer coordination at senior levels would help translate political goodwill into tangible economic outcomes.

 

Both sides agreed on the need to finalize a structured mechanism to facilitate Azerbaijani investments in Pakistan. The mechanism will enable the smooth realization of the proposed US$ 2 billion investment across identified sectors of Pakistan’s economy, aimed at boosting growth and strengthening long-term economic partnership.

 

The discussion reflects the growing momentum in Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations, with a renewed focus on investment, trade, and economic collaboration.
