Pakistan Reaffirms One-China Policy, Recognizes Taiwan as Integral Part of China

Islamabad - Pakistan has reaffirmed its firm support for the One-China Principle, reiterating that Taiwan is an inalienable part of the People’s Republic of China, as senior Pakistani and Chinese officials reviewed the state of bilateral relations.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Jiang Zaidong, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to official statement of Pakistan Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, Ambassador Jiang conveyed seasonal greetings and best wishes for the New Year on behalf of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

While reciprocating the greetings, Senator Dar expressed appreciation for China’s continued and strong support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national development. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering backing of China on all core issues, including strict adherence to the One-China Principle.

The foreign minister reiterated that Pakistan recognizes the People’s Republic of China as the sole legitimate government representing all of China and clearly stated that Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory.

Both sides reviewed the overall state of Pakistan-China relations and expressed satisfaction over the depth and resilience of their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. They agreed that the long-standing friendship remains a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and serves as an important anchor for regional peace, stability, and security.

The meeting underscored the continued alignment between Islamabad and Beijing on key regional and international issues, reflecting the enduring strength of bilateral ties between the two countries.
