QUETTA - Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti visited the Headquarters of Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan (North), where they paid tribute to fallen soldiers, reviewed the province’s security situation, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to combating terrorism, officials said on Friday.

Upon arrival at the FC Headquarters, a smartly turned-out contingent presented a salute to the visiting dignitaries. Inspector General FC Balochistan (North), Major General Muhammad Atif Mujtaba, received the Interior Minister and the Chief Minister and introduced them to senior officers of the force.

The leaders laid floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Monument, offered prayers, and recited Fateha in memory of personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. They prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and paid rich tribute to their supreme sacrifices for the nation.

During a comprehensive briefing, the IG FC North apprised the visitors of the overall law and order situation in Balochistan, the challenges being faced, and future strategies aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness. He also highlighted the force’s training mechanisms, operational readiness, and professional standards.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded FC Balochistan North and other security agencies for their sustained anti-terror operations and their role in maintaining peace in the province. “FC Balochistan North’s sacrifices for peace are unforgettable. The officers and jawans have rendered remarkable service in eliminating Fitna-e-Hindustan. Their courage has thwarted hostile agendas and written a golden chapter of bravery,” he said.

Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti echoed these sentiments, stating, “The sons of FC Balochistan North are heroically cleansing the land of Indian-sponsored terrorists. The Balochistan government stands arm in arm with our forces in this war.”

The Chief Secretary of Balochistan Shakil Qadar and the Inspector General of Police were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, accompanied by Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, visited the residence of Shaheed Major Anwar Kakar at Spiny Road in Kakar Town, Quetta, to offer condolences to the bereaved family.

The two leaders met the martyr’s mother, brothers, and young sons, expressing heartfelt sympathy and solidarity. They offered Fateha for the departed soul and paid glowing tribute to Major Anwar Kakar, who embraced martyrdom in what officials described as a cowardly, Indian-sponsored attack.

Addressing the family, Mohsin Naqvi praised the courage and resilience of the martyr’s mother, who said: “My son was a lion. He sacrificed his life for the homeland. I am proud of his martyrdom. Two more of my sons are also ready for Pakistan.”

The Interior Minister showed affection to the martyr’s young sons and announced that another son of Shaheed Major Anwar Kakar would be admitted to Aitchison College. Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti announced a government job for the martyr’s brother, Khudaidad Khan, and further declared that a school would be named after Major Anwar Kakar.

“You are the brave mother of a valiant son of Pakistan, and the nation is proud of you,” Mohsin Naqvi said. “Seeing your courage inspires us even more. Your resolve and spirit are the true strength of our nation. Every drop of a martyr’s blood is a guarantee of the country’s security.”

Chief Minister Bugti added, “Major Anwar Kakar sacrificed his precious life for the country and attained the esteemed rank of martyrdom. We salute his great sacrifice. Our martyrs are the pride and honor of the nation, and their sacrifices will never be forgotten.”

The leaders prayed for patience and strength for the family. Provincial ministers, along with the Chief Secretary of Balochistan and the Inspector General of Police, were also present.

Major Anwar Kakar was martyred in a deadly blast in Quetta some time ago, an attack authorities say was carried out by Indian-sponsored terrorists.
