Peshawar, Pakistan -  At least 30 people, including children, have been killed and dozens more injured in rain-related incidents across Pakistan’s northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since March 25, authorities said on Saturday.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the casualties were caused mainly by collapsing roofs and walls amid continuous rainfall in multiple districts.

The death toll includes 20 children, five men, and five women, while 85 people have been injured — among them 36 men, 11 women, and 38 children.

Officials said at least 140 houses have been damaged so far, with 25 completely destroyed and 115 partially affected.

The incidents were reported in several districts, including Peshawar, Abbottabad, Kohat, Bannu, Nowshera, North Waziristan, and Tank, among others.

Emergency teams, including Rescue 1122 and local administrations, are continuing relief operations, while authorities have directed district officials to speed up assistance and provide immediate support to affected families.

More rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, is forecast to continue intermittently across the province through April 4, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department warning of possible heavy downpours and isolated hailstorms.

Authorities have urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from vulnerable areas, and follow official advisories. The PDMA said its emergency operation center remains fully active, and citizens can contact its helpline for assistance.
